Media analyst Andrea Plaid is in conversation with Keturah Kendrick about her new book and what it means to write about freedom as a Black woman living in the Age of Trump. As a woman who has chosen not to have children, what does it mean to watch the methodical reversal of Roe v. Wade? As a Black person returning from five years living abroad, how does an America under the leadership of a white supremacist impact one’s decision to return to the country? These and other questions will be discussed as Plaid uses the themes in Kendrick’s No Thanks to explore the lives of Black American women who chart their own path despite the endless roadblocks constructed to make the journey more difficult than necessary.
